Ice cold fear whips away breath
                Leaves lungs
and hearts and arms bereft
                                Inhaling
the frostbite of a winter day.
Hushed voices sigh conspiratorially
                Partners
in crime unintentionally
                                Left
without the words to say
The whispered venom of lonely nights
                Of heartache
sprawled in the headlights
                                Strangers
sweeping the traces away.
Behind name-plated doors the secrets unfold
                Surreptitiously
guarded to maintain their hold

Unfettered, unhindered writing; well done.
