Thinking about things that are "worth it" as opposed to things that are not. A list.

Worth it:

Big Screen TV
Growing Own Tomatos
Homemade Truffles
Homemade Pumpkin Leek Soup.
Blueberry Picking

Not Worth it:

High-Efficiency Front-Load Washer (any savings of reduced water use are compromised by excessive need to run cleaning cycles to prevent horrid odors)
Homemade Chocolate Covered Cherries.
Homemade Yogurt (because no one but me will eat it)
Extreme Couponing (Casual Couponing will have to do)
Nook E-reader (where to start. I can't take it in the bathtub. Tech problems getting the library books to download. Major wait list for e-library books. Starts up too slowly--i.e. it takes longer than opening a book.)

  1. Bummer about the Nook. I do take it in the bathtub, but it starts wigging out after about 45 minutes in the humidity. I dislike the wait on library books too. But love that I have stuff to do when I'm out and about and waiting in the line at a store.

I am also surprised by the chocolate covered cherries. I would think that covering ANYTHING in chocolate would make it worth it. Maybe I'll cover my current MS in chocolate, and see if that changes anything....

  2. Chocolate covered manuscript. . .yum! I have nothing against chocolate covered cherries, it's just that making them is too much work.

  3. I don't have an ereader yet because I just love opening up a real book! But I hadn't thought about the downsides to reading on one. And my husband recorded a show about extreme couponing, but I haven't watched it yet. It sounds like a 24/7 job!

This is where you write something so I know you were here. And where I will sometimes write back.
