Impulse

We almost weren’t
But then we turned
Quick-pressed lips
The image burned
Cut and scene
You gasped
I laughed
And left
You there
The
End

"Pwmd"

Glass half-full
Focus the moment
The center of truth
Own it
Straw wrapper folded
Into a zigzag pattern
Smoothed out after
Word-for-word
rhubarb chatter
Queried and qwerty’d
into matter
Of fact-checked impact
Shattered open

Innermost

Sticks and stones shaded deep
Reflect the surface
Shroud answers beneath.
Draw blood in hot silent rush
Raging smooth ice pink flush.

Ripple my alabaster likeness
Molton at the core,
Liquid gold Midas fear to touch.
Live cloaked, gloved,
In orbit space, in heat, abandon love.

Escape

Out of the dark it slaps
My face, the smell
Cigarettes and beer
I breathe like I’ve clawed
My way to fresh air
My fingers drip condensation,
ice wet on the glass,
Unseen amber torch held aloft
Leading out of lost.
